Watford target Monaco's Rachid Ghezzal to replace Richarlison sources

The FC crew answer your tweets on Barcelona’s motivation for signing Malcom and if Richarlison to Everton is the best piece of business this window.

The FC crew call Everton’s transfer strategy into question as reports of a 40-to-50-million-pound move for Watford’s Richarlison heat up.

Watford are lining up a move for Monaco winger Rachid Ghezzal as a possible replacement for Richarlison, sources close to the club have told ESPN FC.

The Hornets are looking to bolster their attacking options after selling Richarlison to Everton last month and they have identified Ghezzal as a potential replacement.

Several other Premier League sides are also monitoring Ghezzal’s situation with Monaco open to offers for the player.

Ghezzal would cost in the region of £13 million, meaning Monaco would make a profit on the Algerian if they decide to cash-in on him.

Algeria international Ghezzal joined Monaco last summer on a free transfer from Lyon.

Watford have held a long-term interest in Ghezzal and tried to sign the 26-year-old before he made his move to Monaco last year.

They have continued to keep tabs on Ghezzal and they could move for the skilful attacker as they look to strengthen their squad before the close of the transfer window next week.
