Premier League transfer news: Arsenal, Domagog Vida, Chelsea, Eden Hazard, Thibaut Courtois

ARSENAL are plotting a surprise move for one of Croatia’s World Cup stars, while Maurizzio Sarri has told Chelsea’s unsettled duo there’s no way out.

That and more Premier League transfer news in this edition of Rumour Mill.

HAZARD AND COURTOIS SET TO REMAIN AT STAMFORD BRIDGE

It’s understood Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri will tell Eden Hazard and Thibaut Courtois they are going nowhere in crunch talks with the Belgians.

Courtois has been the subject of a $A61 million bid from Real Madrid, but Chelsea do not want to sell at that price.

Hazard is also a Real target, but Chelsea do not want to let their star player leave ahead of Sarri’s first season in the Premier League.

Both are expected to report to Chelsea’s Cobham training ground after helping Belgium finish third in the Russia World Cup.

Sarri has insisted since arriving at Chelsea that he would only speak to the duo face-to-face and the Italian wants to clear the air before Sunday’s Community Shield. Neither will be involved against Manchester City at Wembley.

ARSENAL LIVIN’ LA VIDA LOCA

Arsenal boss Unai Emery is reportedly plotting a $43 million move for Croatian defender Domagoj Vida, but the deal will only happen if the Gunners can off load Shkodran Mustafi or Danny Welbeck in the next few days.

New boss Emery is not impressed with the defence he has inherited from Arsene Wenger at the Emirates and he has identified Vida as the man to bring some steel to his leaky back four.

Arsenal already have six central defenders on their books, including injured skipper Laurent Koscielny and $28 million newcomer Sokratis Papastathopoulos.

But he is not convinced by Mustafi, Calum Chambers and Rob Holding and does not believe rookie Konstantinos Mavropanos is ready for regular Premier League football.

Vida, 29, starred for Croatia as they shone at the World Cup before losing 4-2 to France in the final and is keen to test himself in England.

He only joined Besiktas from Dynamo Kiev for $14 million in January and the Turkish club have rejected a $23m bid by Liverpool this summer.

CHELSEA AFTER DORTMUND STAR

Chelsea hope to usurp Liverpool and beat them to the signing of Borussia Dortmund star Christian Pulisic.

The American forward is one of the hottest commodities in Europe following his impressive breakthrough in Germany and on the international stage.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has been linked with the 19-year-old attacking midfielder and knows him well from his time in charge of Dortmund.

SPURS IN THE MARKET

Finally, there is some movement from Spurs in the market.

Tottenham are bidding to sign Valencia midfield powerhouse Geoffrey Kondogbia. The France international shone last season for the Spaniards while on loan from Inter Milan.

Valencia recently triggered Kondogbia’s $38 million release clause to tie him down until 2022.
