Newcastle United news: Rafa Benitez transfer rant, Mike Ashley, Friendly v Braga result, video
RAFA Benitez has launched an extraordinary rant at club chiefs after watching his side crash to a 4-0 horror defeat against Braga.
The Spaniard didn’t hold back over Newcastle’s failure to deliver in the transfer window and admitted the club is a shambles off the pitch.
Goals from Ricardo Horta, Joao Novais, Fransergio and Dyego Sousa ensured Benitez returned to the North East in a foul mood as he prepares to face Tottenham at home on August 11.
After the contest, the frustrated boss fumed: “Things are not going well off the pitch.”

When asked what, he replied: “Everything.”
Benitez also added: “I’m worried. Fans are concerned – that have to be. We are concerned.
“We’re not doing things well on the pitch or off it. This should be a wake up call for everyone. Our fans are very clever. They know what is going on.”
Newcastle have made two permanent signings this summer in goalkeeper Martin Dubravka and defender Fabian Schar for a combined £6million (A$10m).
They landed Chelsea’s Kenedy on a loan deal and await the paperwork to be completed to register Japanese international striker Yoshinori Muto.
But their humbling in Portugal only emphasised Newcastle’s need to make new signings.
When asked whether supporters can expect new faces, Benitez bluntly said: “I have no idea.
“For me, I said before, (we need) three of four players.
“Am I optimistic, thinking that in ten days, we can do what we didn’t go in two months? I don’t think so. But, still, I think it’s obvious we need people, we need bodies.”
