Loftus-Cheek considering options - Soccer News

Talksport understands that Ruben Loftus-Cheek will ask for a loan move away from Stamford Bridge this season if he doesn’t get enough playing time under new manager Maurizo Sarri.

The twenty-two-year-old spent last season on loan with Crystal Palace and his performances for the Eagles saw him earn a place in England’s World Cup squad.

Prior to his switch to Selhurst Park, Loftus-Cheek had racked up thirty-two appearances for his parent club, scoring two goals.

Chelsea have added Jorginho to their ranks this summer, with Ross Barkley, Danny Drinkwater and Tiemoue Bakayoko among those central midfielders battling for a starting berth.

Loftus-Cheek went to Russia having only made a handful of appearances in friendlies for Gareth Southgate’s side but played four times at the tournament, with three of those outings coming from the start.

Chelsea play Manchester City in the Community Shield on Sunday afternoon and are priced at 13/5 to win in ninety minutes.
