Chelsea transfer news, rumours: Maurizio Sarri to become manager, Aleksandr Golovin, World Cup transfers
CHELSEA are ready to appoint new boss Maurizio Sarri as early as tomorrow.
Stamford Bridge chiefs have already held talks with the former Napoli coach about him succeeding fellow Italian Antonio Conte.
Napoli appointed ex-Blues boss Carlo Ancelotti as their new manager, but they will collect $8million in compensation as Sarri remains under contract.
Negotiations are also progressing with Conte over his long-awaited exit.
It means Sarri, 59, will start work on shaping his squad as he attempts to get the club back into the Champions League.
One of his first transfer targets is Russia midfielder Aleksandr Golovin, who will cost AU$48m from CSKA Moscow.
The midfielder (22) lit up the World Cup opener against Saudi Arabia and is set for a move away from the Russian capital.
Juventus were hoping to push through a deal, but Chelsea want to lure him to London and will not give up.
